The Foresight exists to bring rigorous, readable thinking to the conversations shaping our world — the way The Economist, Frontline, and YourStory have for their readers. We’re building that same credibility, one well-argued piece at a time.
Writing for us means:
- Your byline sits alongside serious, well-reported journalism — not filler content.
- Every piece goes through an editorial process built to sharpen your argument, not water it down.
- Your work reaches a readership that comes to us specifically for depth, not noise.
What We're Looking For
We publish original articles, analysis, and opinion across:
- Technology and its impact on how we live and work
- Business, markets, and the strategy behind them
- Society, culture, and the shifts reshaping everyday life
- Public policy and governance
- Ideas and essays that don’t fit neatly into a category but deserve one
We’re less interested in news recaps and more interested in perspective — the “so what” behind an event, trend, or idea.
Submission Guidelines
Length: 800–1,500 words for articles and analysis; up to 2,000 words for long-form essays.
Originality: Pieces must be unpublished elsewhere (online or in print) and not under review at another publication.
Voice: Clear, well-argued, and evidence-based. We welcome a strong point of view, but claims should be substantiated.
Format: Submit as a Google Doc (with comment access) or attached Word document. Include a suggested headline and a one-line summary.
Bio: A 2–3 line author bio and, optionally, a headshot and links to your work or social profiles.
AI-Assisted Writing
We’re open to AI as a tool, not as a substitute for original thought or reporting. If you use AI anywhere in your process, your submission is welcome as long as:
- The research is your own — facts and arguments come from real investigation, not AI-generated claims you haven’t independently checked.
- Every fact is verified against a primary or credible source before you send it to us.
- Sources are authentic and traceable — no fabricated, paraphrased, or AI-hallucinated citations.
- The piece is substantially written and shaped by you — AI can assist with drafting or editing, but the final voice, argument, and structure should be yours, not generic AI prose.
- It reads like a human wrote it — clear, direct, free of AI filler phrases, hedge-everything language, or repetitive structure.
Please flag in your pitch email if AI tools were used in research or drafting. We reserve the right to reject or unpublish pieces that read as unverified or unedited AI output, regardless of topic.
Originality & Plagiarism
All work must be your own. We run submissions through plagiarism checks — copied text, lightly reworded passages, or unattributed use of another writer’s argument or structure will result in immediate rejection and disqualifies you from future submissions. Quotes and data drawn from other sources must be clearly attributed.
If you’d rather merge it into the existing Originality bullet instead of adding a new one, shorter version:

Editorial Process
- Pitch or draft submission — send a short pitch or your finished draft.
- Editorial review — our team reads every submission. Expect a response within 7–10 business days.
- Edits, if accepted — we may suggest structural or line edits in collaboration with you before publishing.
- Publication — your piece goes live on The Foresight with full byline credit.
We’re unable to send individual feedback on pieces we don’t accept, but we read everything that comes in.

Please include:
- Your draft or a 150-word pitch
- Suggested headline
- Author bio (2–3 lines)
- Any relevant links to previous work
